Playwright: William Shakespeare. Sets: Daniel Conway. Lighting: Nancy Schertler. Costumes: Kate Turner-Walker. Sound: James Sugg. Mask Design: Aaron Cromie.
My first foray into this deeply silly play taught me what an excellent engine Shakespeare built. The performances were playful and wildly inventive. Conceived as a play within a play—a production of the fictional Worchester Mask & Wig Society— complete with an introductory mockumentary. The masks were appropriately ridiculous, and the play was very, very funny!
“...in Posner's dandy handling... implementing his usual, inventively personal take, he’s remained true to the classically antic spirit of ‘The Comedy of Errors.’”
